Malaysia rock group history begin at early 80's. And spreading around the country at the late 80's. They influenced by the west rock music. The local rock band exist by the rock competition like Juara Rock, Rock Festival and The Battle Of The Band 1 & 2. First rock competition in Malaysia is in 1983 (Juara Rock). The competition won by D' Febian and Lefthanded. In 1984 Burnmarks is the winner and Hurricane from Johor Bahru at the second place. Battle Of The Band 1 & 2 (1986-1987).The rock music scene in Malaysia growing more bigger when the competition series was made like Clash Of the Band.War Rock 1 to 4, Gagasan Batu-Batu Perjuangan, Gagasan Hikayat Rok(was made by Ali Bakar). Rock image with the long hair was protest by the public at that time. They banned to show up in government mass media(1988). Rock group like Search and May Success at the final Juara Lagu by TV3.
